With a height reaching 5 feet, and wingspan of 8 feet, the Shoebill is a fierce, independent, and solitary creature. Native to the swamps and marshlands of Africa, they have a unique method of hunting: standing motionless for hours in the water, waiting to strike their prey. Coupled with their big, golden, unblinking eyes, they have a pretty unnerving death stare.

They can decapitate humongous fish and even baby crocodiles, and they produce a unique clapping sound, both to attract mates and ward off predators, which sounds similar to a machine gun.
